After taxes I will probably have just half of the prize money.

Even so I would put $900 million of the prize in my favorite stocks and index funds that I already own that pay about 2% in dividends each year. This would provide an annual income of about $18 million that will grow as the stocks gain in value.

For $10 million I would buy a plot of land somewhere in the mountains with a good source of water and the other $90 million I would buy short-term bonds, some fine art, and gold in case stocks go down and the dividend income goes down, too.

It won't change anything because I've never really cared much for money or material possessions. I'd give just about all of it away to those in need.

If the sum would be huge, I would stop doing any work I don't like and I would just spend my entire life studying  Just paying for the subscription to the world's best scientific journals would cost me a hell of a lot of money :woohoo: I would also finance research facilities and humanist NGO's and I would dedicate funds to the promotion of critical thinking and freedom of speech. I would also finance campaigns to combat discrimination, racism and religious fanaticism. I would die poorer than Francis of Assisi, but I would leave behind me a brighter world

But I've never tried lotteries, nor do I intend to, so yeah... it will be hard work all the way!

The other day I had this strong feeling to buy some lottery tickets for the 1st time in the recent years, seriously, a strong feeling, was liking God telling me to buy them, and the pool prize was $30 millions. So I spent $21.20 and bought 18 games, guess what? I won $21.75...

55 cents, was all that strong feeling made me, dafuq...

I feel as if everyone has thought this over in the head many times before.

$2 billion...? Let's be realistic in terms of the lotto. Approximately $500million is about as high as it gets. After the lump sum option and taxes, you end up with approximately $125million.

With $125 million in my account:

1. $5 million budget: (i. in annual installments to my parents for life to avoid wasting money on taxes, ii. a car for each of them, iii. 3 vacation packages to anywhere they want, iv. watch for dad)

2. $1.5 million: Sister and fiance (i. annual installments as well for 5 years, huge wedding present, small college fund for their future kids (up to 2 kids). No more since I don't want my sister getting lazy and not appreciating money. She currently makes more money than me along with her fiance and lives VERY comfortably.

3. $1 million: Random Charities of choice

4. $1 million: For everyone who has been there for me, I care about, who can use a bit of help with their lives/dreams, etc.

5. $500,000: Car/Motorcycle/etc

6. $500,000: Trips Trips Trips around the world world world (including major expeditions, outdoor sports, etc)

7. Up to $6 million: To eventually go to a house/real estate investment/maintenance/etc depending on location

8. $100,000: Turn 1-2 people's lives around completely with some type of help that might need to include money

9. $250,000: Miscellaneous

10. Invest the rest. Can't touch at all unless something critical/life threatening/etc occurs.

I'd still work or run a small business. Not entirely sure what it would be, but I wouldn't mind working my current job without all the pressure though.

-Help to fund organizations that stop sex trafficking (all ages) in all countries
-Buy nice house (I said nice houses- not mansions) for my parents and all my brothers and sisters
-Pay the best lawyer in the country to help get part time costedy of my brothers child
-Pay off any debts my family has
-Pay for better college
-Save money for medical emergencies
-Donate to charities I find are in need and that actually do things
-Take my family on vacations around the world because we've never had the money before
-Save whatever is left for people who may need it later in life
-and put it in bank so it would get bigger through out the years
