I guess it depends. Since I'm close to 175 cm (5'9)...I wouldn't mind dating a guy who is about 2 inches shorter than haha but some men prefer to be the taller one in the relationship. It has to do a lot with their Manhood. Preferably I do need a guy who is at least my height or taller.

On a serious note, I think the general perception is that men should be taller than (or at least as tall as) the female when it comes to dating. Although I must admit that I dated a girl much taller than me (she was 6 ft).

I don't know of a single female who has specifically said, "I find shorter men more attractive than taller men" or "I prefer short guys" - happy to be proved wrong though!
