Sorry for the downtime beginning on Friday, July 13th at arround 6h. We are still analysing what went wrong with the server.

What we know for sure is that the most important load-balancing scripts had stop working at 6h. When I tried to reach the server via SSH at arround noon (when I saw the website was offline), the server was clompletely gone.

Sadly and as usual, the United-Hoster support took ages in order to properly respond to our restart-enqueries, so it took till Saturday at arround 18h until the server was back on.

I will try to keep you updated.

The harddisk raid is fixed, now. According to a first glance at the logs, there was an I/O bus error at 3:30h, leaving the OS run on whatever was in the RAM. Therefore, the logs end at that time, even though the server was still reachable for another 3 hours.
We will try to have those guys from United Hoster check whether the hardware is still okay, or if there are damages due to overheating or so.

The United Hoster support has informed us that they replaced a harddisk from our RAID due to our complaints originating in the recent downtimes. But, SMART-data still show bad statistics for both harddisks in the RAID, so we will keep an eye on that. Please be prepared for further downtimes.

Donations to rent a better/secondary server are welcome ;-)

There are a number of software changes and updates - and possibly hardware checks - I'll perform in the next days. Please bear with the maintenance downtime, we're trying to make hey-ai better!
