London meet up 2014

100% sausage fest.

I attended two meet ups in the last two years, believe me, it was a sausage fest both times.....it is not that the girls are shy, but they would only come out if someone actually plans something nice.

Just going to the pub is not enough if you want to get people interested from this site

Really? Even If its just to sit and chill in one of the parks?

I am Japanese based in London

I've seen several failed attempts (and tried to get to one many years ago) at a London meet up & there's various reasons why it just doesn't work out.

Shyness (from both sides), bad organizing, bad choice of venue/event/activity, members pulling out at the last moment, inability to clarify a date/time for all & not all members on here live in or near to London, so transport & accommodation is always an issue for them. Whoever organizes it might have to help with that or members could pull together & share the tasks needed to be done.

Also with the run up to christmas, not all of us are free either.

A better option could be to arrange a CNY party/event to meet up at....possibly a pay to enter night? (eg: 2014 I went to a boat party on the thames with my friends in London & had a blast! Me & my friends go a different pay event each year & they're really good)....that way the guys wouldn't feel so out of place perhaps? And you could possibly mingle with other guests.

Well knowing from experience organising meetups, if you do female-friendly activities the females will come. Of course, that may drive the men away but more for me haha (probably shouldn't say that too loudly lest my girlfriend hear)!!!

Also bars help to get 10+ people especially if you're doing combined meetups. But the female/male ratio may vary widely.

What I do is avoid the bars for the most part and do female-friendly activities, not a fan of drinking much myself.

Bowling is good

Club/Bars too loud and you can't talk to them without shouting at them.
