Anyone a fan of Sci-Fi?

I've always loved the film The Matrix: A mix of philosophical analogy, discourse, metaphors, and a fusing of popular culture like cyber-punk books like Neuromancer, American comic books, manga and anime like Ghost in the Shell, martial arts choreography (The legendary Yuen Woo-Ping), religious symbolism, existentialism, conspiracy theories, etc.

Cogito Ergo Sum

Understanding the Matrix

I love Sci-Fi. I grew up watching the SciFi channel as a kid. I was exposed to shows like Lost in Space, Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Twilight Zone, The X-Files, Farscape, Firefly, and Roswell. I am of the generation that grew up with films like E.T., Independence Day, Men in Black, Jurassic Park, etc.

I think for some reason Sci-Fi isn't as big as it used to be. Why not? I mean, we're living in the digital age, aren't we? It's gone underground, for the most part. Only a few die-hard fans of the genre are still around.

I think therefore I am.

I'm a huge fan of sci-fi fan myself. The first Matrix movie was brilliant, although Reloaded and Revolution felt rather flat when compared to the first film.

I have a penchant for dystopian sci-fi, stuff like Mad Max, Bladerunner, Water World.

P.S - Love Doctor Who!

Ridley Scott's new picture Prometheus is supposedly linked to his popular Alien. He said in an interview that it answers a big question about the Aliens. Their origin, perhaps?
