Hawaii 5 0 Daniel Dae Kim lack of chemistry & too serious?

I mean you can see they are on friendly terms but I just don't see any chemistry and I find their scenes stilted?

With her being mixed race and so looking more white than Japanese, the actress who plays he love interest in a way could be a good chance of AMWF relationship on the show but it unfortunately just falls flat, maybe it doesn't help that their love scenes could be better written, who knows.

Also at the start Daniel smiled a lot and I thought this was the actor enjoying himself but then as it goes on he gets way too serious, hardly smiling, constantly being serious about being Hawaiian in the show and ok its good to be proud of your heritage and to not always be a joker but he's too serious throughout the tv series, lighten up a little!

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I think he got too used to speaking only a few words in English and mainly speaking Korean when he was on Lost. Plus his character wasn't a very happy husband! Even when his character's wife left the top button on her blouse undone he wasn't a happy camper! Probably got too used to being uptight! Plus he's probably sick of beaches!

He's probably still in his Lost character - Jin. Kind of like Robert Downey Jnr's character in Tropic Thunder.

(I haven't watched Hawaii 5 0, so this is probably all irrelevant, Actually, I'm pretty sure it is. )
