I've seen 1-5 but gave up after that as said earlier, they were simply trying too hard. There wasn't any scenes that was scary but if I had to pick one I'd say the needle scene.

I concur. The whole series is f_ed up. My friend was really into these movies, and I remember nights over at his place when we all were forced to sit and watch, and I could tell some other friends weren't really into it either. No, I don't get even the slightest thrill from seeing people being tortured, no matter how much they don't "seem to not be enjoying their lives" or whatever the moral of the story behind the series may or may not be. My friend that is really into these movies claims sympathy for the villain - Jigsaw aka John Kramer - because he says that Kramer was simply "doing society a huge favor" by "making examples of these innocent/some not innocent people". For example, take the doctor from, I believe it was SAW II or SAW III, I don't remember exactly... but the young woman who simply "seemed indifferent" to her job as a doctor and her everyday life... Kramer saw her as "unjustly indifferent" to a "beautiful life"? If Kramer is so well-meaning, then why doesn't he just f__k off and make an example of himself? See what I mean?

These movies are a blatant excuse for gore-obsessed weirdos to indulge in their wicked desire to see blood and mayhem, and they attempt to justify it all as I mentioned earlier! Crazy, if you ask me.

Yay!...Someone who actually gets the series. *High 5 to you*

The series plays out like one big story and by the 3rd Saw, Jigsaw is sort of an anti-hero, not really the villain, and you want to see how his master plan plays out. The main point of the torture scenes to make you feel the pain with the characters and that's part of the fun, though some people can't handle it. The series was never meant to be "scary", you watch supernatural/ghost horror for that (Dead Silence, Insidious, Lovely Molly, etc.)
