Okay, Matt. First off, sorry for what happened to your dogs. But you really shouldn't be sharing sob stories with people you don't even know let alone reprimand them. It really just looks like self-pity and it's not helping you.

Have you considered changing your look if people are frightened by the way you dress? Maybe smile a little more, dress a little nicer--it's the simple things that can make all the difference. You'd probably make more friends in real life if you did.

Based on what you've said in this thread, you sound a little misguided. Allow me to clarify a few things. I don't know about you, but if I want my soccer team to win, I'm not going to pick the fat kid. If I wanted to make a new friend, I'd choose someone who looks less threatening not because of their music or sense of taste. Is everyone else really that judgmental? Are you sure it's not just in your head or maybe you're giving off negative energy that others appropriately respond to with negative feedback like your posts? Lastly, do you really think there's this unanimous preference for likeness? I can appreciate originality but there's a line.

As for your rough childhood, I've heard a lot worse. Trust me, I've been around and my childhood sucked donkey balls too. Went through the same phase of social ineptitude, little fat boy growing up with a bowl cut, bullying, scars, all except the part about getting shot. But I can't complain since my parents grew up in worse times. Ever imagine growing up during war time in a 3rd world country? My dad lost 2 brothers during the Vietnam war and one of them was right in front of him when his older brother was working out in the field when he stepped on a bomb that didn't explode on impact. Blew up right in front of him. He's been through a lot more but I won't disclose the full details. Point is we all have problems, Matt. Believe it or not, a lot of them are worse than yours.

I suggest you consider euthanasia to ease the pet you love pains away for a smoother process, instead of whining and coming off so strong to the internet where people would just either give you self-pity or the cold hard truth. Until s*** hits the ceiling and everything gets blown out of perspective.

Being in the veterinary medicine field, it's always a tough choice but it doesn't help YOU or the DOG to bring your life stories about other unrelated drama to justify your claim of regrets/lonely/friends. That's your problem, if you truly feel that way then perhaps a reality check and take a look at your life and reevaluate. There's so much sympathy a person can gives, let alone a stranger online until you push them away because it seems helpless.
