Hey guys, so I bet you all have noticed a baby doll looking child with a ton of make up on recently on the net. That child's name, or should I say nickname is Honey Boo Boo. Personally I've been shocked and disgusted by it's appearance and I think the parents are doing a good job ruing their kids childhood by turning their kid into a princess.

What do you guys think of these painted faced children and their parents, that allow their kids childhoods to be taken away? What kind of future do you think these kids are going to face?

Posting a link to a pic cause the IMG code and the attachments dont work for me :

Hmm.

Pageantry is a huge money maker here in the states. It's also one if those fiery topics for womens lib organizations.

I myself don't understand it but i have found that some little girls enjoy the spectacle. But in regards to the parents our show moms, it could be that they want to make their little girls happy-it could be also projecting their wishes unto their little girls.

All in all what to do, it's here and i think it's here to stay for another 20 years.

Well Miss Mysha, I do understand that some mothers just want to make their children happy, but personally i think that the child will hate the mother for doing something like this when she grows up and is like 20, right now Honey Boo Boo, as I understand, is considered a baby beauty queen? But then, look at her mother and imagine what her daughter will look like when she goes to high school or college, the girl will surely become a yummy object for bullies and I wouldn't be surprised that the girl would be traumatized enough to even commit suicide. I think the mother is not thinking of the future and is just enjoying the money she's getting from her child.

This topic is cleverly dealt with in LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE. This 2006 film directed by Jonathan Dayton & Valerie Faris is an absolute MUST SEE (watch trailer below).
As for child pageantry, it is banned in France because of that uncomfortable feeling seeing little girls being turned into erotic objects of desire by their own parents.
And after watching the fillm, though I'm said to be very liberal & tolerant, I have to agree that it's maybe better that way: little kids don't need a competition to pick who's the loveliest. All kids are beautiful.

A mother should be able to protect her children and not expose them into a world of "Beauty comes first" Kind of lifestyle! I think it is sickining to do these kinds of things!

A little girl younger then eight getting a freaking spray tan? WTH is this? Getting their eyebrows waxed? Putting on more make up then an actual full grown woman would? Looking completely fake?

And to top this all off? I saw on Tyra? This one show where she got these little pageant girls and she started asking them Qustions! One of the Questions she asked was "Would you rather be smart or beautiful?" And all the girls replied "Beautiful" =.=' This is what they learned in life! Is to not be smart? But be a dumb but "Beautiful" Person! :pinch:

And one last thing would be? Pedos! And no need to explain that!
