Get your thumb off the neck of the guitar and lower your wrist. Try not to grasp the neck too much with your palm. Keep index finger straight all the way across and elbow closer to your torso. This technique will help from fatigue. This is how I learned in flamenco.

Here is an example. He keeps his wrist lower and straight for the barre. You don't see much of the thumb on the neck of the guitar.

Could you please tell me how to keep my index finger straight all the way across and at the same time closer to my torso? If I try this, my whole body has to move nearer to the guitar's head.

Yeah, it's getting better. try to rest the guitar on your left lap and raise the neck up a bit more and you will see the barre will get easier.
