I'm a casual listener...most of the artists have little to no talent and the music is catchy in a irritating way. You don't want to like it but YOU CAN'T HELP IT.
My fave artists are the ones where the video is just as good with the sound off. In my opinion Rain is the only one with real talent (though LA Song was questionable...). Though G-Dragon can rap when he tries.

1) Kpop stars are overly feminized, which is what Asians are stereotyped as. 2) Their music is not original, unique, and creative, which Asians are stereotyped as not being. 3) Most are groups and individuals cannot have a career outside the group, which is another stereotype that Asians are group oriented and are nothing without their respective group.
My biggest problem is creativity. Music is art, and art needs creativity.

Jonquil wrote: Kpop is garbage. Thousands of years of culture and Koreans think that is what true music is? Uh NO! I know most people here will rag on me for this but common, Kpop is so demeaning to Asians in my opinion. Not only does it highlight negative aspects of Asian culture, we Asians are so dumb we don't even realize it!

Your post is so retarded and you are wrong about every single point.
1) What the fcuk? Aside from the fact that kpop is not feminized, what does that has to do with stereotype (and your stereotype makes no sense)?
2) Kpop can get repetitive after a while but that is what makes them kpop. They have their own distinctive style. But that doesn't mean it isn't original or unique. Most artists writes their own song just FYI. And what the fcuk does this have to do with stereotype again?
3) Most kpop artists are in groups yeah, but again, what the fcuk does this have to do with stereotype? How is that a bad stereotype? Are you okay buddy?
The end of the story is, you do not know enough Kpop to be criticizing it, and whatever issue you have with stereotype, you somehow have to involve them with every aspects of Kpop.
