I thought that this was a pretty amazing film. The motion capture and CG were absolutely mind-blowing, but what really impressed me was that it actually had character drama, which I thought Hollywood had forgotten all about based on the big films that came out this year.

I don't want to spoil too much of the movie, but I had many feels when Caesar returned to his "true home."

I watched this movie yesterday in 3D - it was a pretty awesome experience. Like you, I enjoyed the movie and am completely on board with the message it sends across. However, there were some characters whose traits were a bit too overblown. Although some scenes help with the character development in these characters, I felt like it wasn't enough to justify their actions.

Definitely better than previous Planet of the Apes movies though, and worth the watch (theaters only!). I appreciated many aspects of the movie aside from the plot, character development, and the balance of action and drama. However, I felt scenes included to draw emotion were rather weak, and the the acting could have used a boost. But yeah, definitely a fun watch.

Huh, my heart of stone felt nothing.

Did appreciate the scene where they played The Band's "The Weight"

Effin classic riff.

Definitely thought it was the best movie of the summer so far. The growing politics within the ape clan was very interesting. The human story, emotions, and CG were also very well done!
And dayum, that virus.
