Decided to go to a bookstore when it's open today. I perfer science fiction and fantasy but do ocassionally dabble in horror amd any other genres that catch my interest. So any volunteers as to what you would recommend? Thanks in advance.

The God Delusion and The Magic of Reality by Richard Dawkins should be of interest to you. :)

H.P. Lovecraft

Also, if you liked the Hitchhiker's Guide you would probably love John Dies at the End and This Book is Full of Spiders (sequel) by David Wong.

More dramatic than wanting to hump dinosaurs?

Don't speak to me.

Thank you Linzisaywut, nanox, and ChineseHatTrick. Good books are like drugs in my opinion. Never enough money to support the damn habit. If I find them addicting I'll properly place the blame on you. Sounds like a deal.

David Mitchell 's works might interest you- he wrote the novel-turned-movie Cloud Atlas.

If you like pulp fiction check out Raymond Chandler (The Big Sleep), if you enjoy dark westerns try Cormac McCarthy (Blood Meridian) or Charles Portis (True Grit).

Sci-fi/cyberpunk: William Gibson (Neuromancer), Alduous Huxley (Brave New World), and Frank Herbert (Dune)

When it comes to horror, stick with King, he's a master of suspense if you ask me.
Most of those that I listed are philosophical books so they might not be interesting to you.
