My temperament is Melancholic/Phlegmatic, so I'm naturally drawn to sad music! 
If you're looking for "sad" music, this is one of the most beautiful, haunting pieces I have ever heard. Aptly named "The Sorrowful Symphonies," the composition is by the Polish composer Henryk Gorecki.
Symphony No. 3 is a salve to weary, aching souls. It's worth it to put on a good pair of headphones and dedicate the time to listen to it:
