Books You Want on the Big Screen

Since I am 300 pages deep in the last book of the best series I've read in years, I can't help but imagine how spectacular it would look as a movie, TV show, or anime. I think, in fact, an anime version is what I'd like to see the most.

Anyway, it could be a colossal screw up, and the movie would turn out horribly. The author himself actually commissioned a mock-up trailer for it, composed of clips from different movies, when the novel was under consideration to be made into a film. I think those negotiations fell through, but I'm still hopeful for the future.

I mostly made this topic to rave about Mistborn/Well of Ascension/Hero of Ages, because it IS a good series. However, I also want to know what books or manga you guys have read that you think would translate really well into another medium, but no one's done so yet. Or books that HAVE gotten their movies, but they sucked so much that they're owed a new one.

I just read the synopsis of the novel. Sounds pretty interesting! I'm going to look into it.
