I know some guys when they say they listen to house they also mean trance and techno. So I guess it can be pretty broad. But yeah, I always thought it meant "house" the original stuff.

I know some guys when they say they listen to house they also mean trance and techno. So I guess it can be pretty broad. But yeah, I always thought it meant "house" the original stuff.

I can see how someone could get confused, trance, techno, house etc... are all under a broad category of "Electronic dance music" aka EDM for short. And under the sub categories like trance, there are different kinds of trance, such as uplifting, progressive, acid trance (Which is horrible I might add), vocal, so on and so forth. Same for house........ I've been listening to EDM for years, and even I don't understand all the sub genre's.

I knew about DI.FM I often listen to their vocal trance station, but oh my Lord, did I not see this! I knew about some of them, but I had NO idea, that jungle, breakbeat, or hardcore had sub genres! I Still don't like jungle, breakbeat, or hardcore though haha And I really didn't appreciate what they had to say about progressive, they also missed uplifting & vocal trance in the trance subsection. Their opinion is invalid!

In the moment I love the beatsteaks.. The best german band and sooo classical.. huch..
