I aslo like jazz. :) but listening to some mp3 or videos... for me is sth missing. I think jazz is good when u can listen it alive..

Jazz is amazing when you dive deep into the genre. When I was studying African American art history we really got into Abel Meeropol which introduced me to one of my favorite jazz compositions, not only because of Billie Holiday's stunning voice but also for the emotion and history Meeropol incorporated into the lyrics: Strange Fruit.

I like contemporary jazz and jazz/fusion rock (mostly guitar hero stuff like Guthrie Govan, etc.). I hardly listen to the original jazz.
