I play guitar, but I'm more empirical, I'm not very good for harmonic circles and stuff.

I love music more than anything else in the world.

If you love to play guitar like I do, check out Chris Broderick of Megadeth (ex Jag Panzer, Nevermore). This guy is definitely one of the best ever. His shredding is immaculate, too. My dream is to at least achieve his level of playing. I've been playing for almost 15 years now, but I have to admit I haven't been as dedicated to my playing as I should have. But I figure, I'm only 27 and not tied down with kids and a family of my own yet so I'm still up for doing shows and what not. Excelling at guitar playing is the funnest, most challenging part of my life so far. I think what many beginning guitar players do is think only of building speed. That was my first mistake when I began playing. I would focus only on speed. You see, in the musical environment that I grew up in it was all about metal and shredding. I still want to continue my shredding path but I'd like to pick up more classical and jazz guitar techniques to include in my own playing style. I dig riffs that rock and extremely technical, blazing soloing.

Some of my favorite guitarists:

1) Chris Broderick (This is great but be sure to also check out his metal shredding, also. Unbelievable stuff. I love his playing, it's everything I want my playing to be. Flawless, smooth, and comfortable)



2) Vinnie Moore (Legend. My favorite of the original shredders of the 80s. Check out his album "The Maze" )



3) Paul Gilbert (Awesome player and all-round cool guy. He's done the wonderful thing of putting out a lot of instructional videos)

^I remember one of the first instructional videos (ie VHS haha)I bought (Hot licks) was presented by Vinnie Moore... His pick runs are ridiculous.

I used to play the flute a longggg time ago....(when i was about 9 i think) but stopped because i got bored.

And I don't think I have the talent for music so I didn't realy mind
