By the way I lived,

Charity is almost never selflessOne can argue that if you feel good yourself, then is it truly selfless? Also, goodness in the world, as long as it's good, shouldn't it be celebrated?

What do you think about Jun's comment?
I think the way in which Jun’s statement is constructed, his comment holds truth. The word ‘ruthless’ leads the reader to assume the businessman has no altruistic motives.
The optimist in me believes that there are truly unselfish individuals in the world. I look at the likes of Mother Teresa, volunteers at food banks and homeless shelters, women’s and mental health support networks, and even some individuals on this forum, etc.
Not everyone is a Jeff Besos, Jared Kushner, or a Martin Shkreli for that matter. I do think that there is a perception, both fair and unfair, that the wealthy do not give their “fair share” during acts of altruism. Studies have show that per capita lower income persons do give a larger percent of their household incomes than those persons in higher income households.

Do you agree that (charity begins at home)? In that if you can't minimally care for the people close to you. What is the likelihood that love and charity would be provided to strangers?
