www.nytimes.com/2012...=me&ref=general got me thinking. Have we become, in today's society, more connected yet more lonely than ever? We spend all of our time talking to each other through keyboard and computer screen. No wonder basic manners and the fine points of social interactions are lost on the young today. Is this why so many spend their days longing for a deep and meaningful connection?

With that said, I should log off now...

In general I believe it is up to us to teach each other as well as the next generations that nothing can replace the actual human contact.

Having spend myself a vast amount of time on the internet, I know how important it is for myself to able to get out at least once a day, getting away at least for a couple of weeks and not being connected. To know how important it is when you see your friends face to face, because a 160 character text can't replace their life story on which you will miss out if you don't get to see them!

Hence I am all for meet ups from this site! I mean really, as the article states, how else will you be able to form memories and make a connection?

When meeting someone, we used to take off our hats. Now we remove our headphones instead.

Times are changing, bro.

I love human contact, the internet is a sub-par substitution but sometimes that's all we have as a connection point.

Times are changing it's less personable and more sterile, for instance I usually smile at people in the store or out on the street as a polite gesture and more so than not younger people look at me like I am some wild crackhead.

Manners are a forgotten art! I see younger people just being rude all the time, if I behaved like that I would be embarrassed but for them its so common place.
