Keep in mind that ANYONE can make a fundraiser and donate 100% to their family if they wanted to. But no one took the initiative to do so and your school took advantage of it. Thats life

That does not mean that it isn't unethical. I might not be criminal or illegal to do so, but I'm talking about the morals here. And besides, they're getting donations left and right from the parents. There are parents who even gave millions of dollars to the school. So when I heard about that, then I started to wonder if the school really needs to make money off of every chance they get?

Aren't all fundraising companies like that? They don't donate all the money to the people that need it.

Hmm. Catholic school, eh? I remember my friend mentioned that Catholic people are hypocrite.

You can't call a group of people 'hypocrite' because they're Catholic.

That's like saying all Muslims are terrorists , all Asians are smart and all Dutch people are greedy... :pinch:

Well, yea that's reality but if you really look for purely 100% charities or fundraising you may refer to Rotary International Foundation or Lion International Club or other non-profit organizations or clubs. For your case, I think your school has the Interact Club or Leo Club or something like that, ask them to do any charity project or event, and I can be sure they won't take any single amount of money for covering up their costs or for their own benefit, because I'm part of Rotary and I know their laws, amendments, policies, and everyone of them did make the vow and signed the certificate (with Terms and Conditions in it) during their induction, so if you notice someone who take it for their own profit, they are so in a very hot soup for Rotary or Leo Club.

Why when I say group of people, people always assume I refer to all?
Besides, where my friend got that idea if there wasn't any truth behind it?

You didn't refer to a group of people, what you said was 'Catholics.' ;)

And maybe your friend had a bad experience or just said it because of what she/he heard about the them.

Do you always believe what your friends say right away? :)

Yup, but I didn't say all catholics people. I believe in yin-yang. There must be black inside white and white inside black. Meaning there must be catholics who aren't hypocrite. ;)

No, usually I analyze the reason why they say that.

You said Catholics. You didn't say 'Some Catholics' neither did you say 'A group of Catholics.' You might not meant to generalize, but the way you wrote it made it sound like you did.

:) :P
