I'd say one of the cheesiest but thoughtful things I did in the past was for Valentine's day I bought him one of those Valentine's day stuffed animals at Kmart haha, you push the button it barks and sang''I was, Looking for love in all the wrong places!'' Then it howls in a funny voice. It was actually cute, cheerful, uplifting and also thoughtful but a little bit cheezy maybe .
Later on I think that voice box died and now sounds like Chucky trying to speak Chinese or something lol.

His birthday arrived and the time was approaching when we had to go to my parents' house .... And he told me that he did not feel like it, that it was me alone, that he would go another day. I told him he couldn't back down now .... he said he didn't want to go because there were good waves (he was a surfer) .... I ended up begging him to please ... that he had to come with me. So as he kept refusing I told him all about the surprise party ... and he still blamed me that I had spoiled the surprise -.-
Moral of the story: Buy flowers and a stuffed animal, so there will be no problems if your boyfriend is a jerk.

I ordered "fabada" for everyone (typical Asturian dish) and Asturian cider at the best restaurant and bought balloons and a big sign saying "Happy Birthday". I told my friends that they had to be at the house half an hour before us, preparing the plates, the balloons and the sign for when we arrived, and the gate opened, they would shout "Happy Birthday" all together. As a "lie" I had told him that my parents wanted us to go to their house for lunch that day.

The funny is is i'm not a cheesy or romantic person... I mean i don't care about St. Valentine or days like that...If i feel i want to give him a gift or whatever i don't need a specific day for that
