AMSTERDAM!

So who's been to Amsterdam?
I'm going there next Friday and am staying for about 4-5 days or so. Anyone have tips or advice for me? Anything relating hostels, coffee shops, touristy things, pubs/bars, sights to see, travelling... anything at all, really.
They only thing I have planned is Cirque du Soleil so far...
I'll have about 10 days afterward to do whatever the hell I want, but I'm really having a hard time picking and choosing which cities to go to. Prague? London? Budapest? Stockholm? Bah, too may options.

Amsterdam is fantastic! Make sure you have a crazy adventure in Amsterdam Central, go check the windows and the parties. Check the Urban Legend Theater as well, great option for the night and get a nice company 'cause of the scary part! Visit the oldest bar in town in the middle of an ally, you're feel back on time!
Don't plan a rout while in Amsterdam, just throw yourself in the city and lrt it suck you in... the best experience I've ever had!

good choice, I loved Amsterdam. Just be careful at nights in some areas, otherwise I found this thread does match what I experienced, search as well the forum.

I terms of personal recommendations, I loved the little cafes (not coffee shops) along the riversides throughout the city and some areas that were artistic. And the Van Gogh Museum is a must.

Prague is beautiful, better than Budapest. Why not go to Prague for 5 days and the fly over to London for 5 days? Or travel with the train from Amsterdam to Brussel and then London? Or up North is possible as well.

We rented these apartments overlooking the red-light district for pretty cheap (40 euros per person a night) in Amsterdam and they can fit 5-8 people (bed-wise) but these apartments are huge so could fit another like 5 on the sofas and 10 on the floor. All you do is collect the keys when you get there and hand them back when you leave so no one checks up on you. I'll post when I remember the website but you should google it.

There are a wide variety of sex-shows, museums, canals, parties, drugs, alcohol, tourist spots. Of course the weed is the best part =D. So I can't really remmeber much of what happened but it was amazing!

London is awesome for partying and meeting people from all over Europe. Budapest etc are more touristy. But if you take eurostar, you could see Brussels, Paris and then London!

I was planning on taking the ferry from Amsterdam to the UK, then flying everywhere else.
Anyone know of cities with a decent nightlife during the weekdays? Or sightseeing that could keep me occupied for hours.
