If the Oscars were really trying to promote diversity, then why was everything being tailored towards African-Americans to appease them? Just because Asians, Hispanics, and other races don't make a big deal or let their voices be heard for every small injustice, mistreatment, or racism that comes their way, does not mean it is okay to openly ridicule those groups, whereas they will think twice before making a joke towards black people due to fearing the backlash. It was not only the joke by Chris Rock (who I think is not even funny and is a bad actor) but also the joke by Ali G. Award shows in general are rigged and dumb, which is why I don't understand why people watch them. I only saw the clips from this particular Oscars. Most of the good movies, actors, and music are the ones that are under the radar and don't get recognized. RANT OVER.
If the Oscars were all about diversity, why the crude Asian joke?
