Your reply might be "honest", but it doesn't help explain the phenomenon of being indifferent towards the suffering of the Chinese, while hypersensitive about maintaining the arguably unreputable, if not bankrupt moral authority of the West. Taking the Chinese suffering as an opportunity to undermine their government and ideology is not just a cheap play, but a despicable manifest of such immoral souls of Western leadership.
You have no right in judging the Chinese handling of the virus, while you show little or no sympathy towards the suffering Chinese people.
In this thread though, I am simply comparing the handling of these 2 posts, namely:
"Wu Flu" vs. "H1N1 Virus = Swine Flu Virus = American Flu Virus = Racist Flu Virus?"
on this forum.
It reflects at a "common sense" level, how insensitive the hey-ai users and mods are towards the racist labeling of the virus against the Chinese vs. the hypersensitivity towards anything marginally critical said about the Western ideology and authority.
Hope this clear up my view on this issue.
Those feelings have always been lurking on the margins of societies and western ideology, especially in the USA, EU where white supremacy has a long and tortuous history that are currently losing their global supremacy. It often happens that right-wing politicians insinuate to share these prejudices, to obtain more votes and to inoculate citizens to carry out acts, racist and discriminatory behavior.
Covid-19 and other health threats can be defeated, but solidarity, cooperation so little applied, must face a more insidious virus: the mixture of fear, stress and racism. Racist ideologies exploit fear: none as atavistic as biological.
An example of them is Trump encourages racism towards Asians by calling Covid-19 as ‘Kung Flu’ or ' Chinese Virus ’.
During a press conference, the president basically told reporters gathered there that he had no problem with someone on his team referring to the covid-19 with the racist apelative "Kung Flu" or "Chinese flu." Avoid using this type of apelative that discriminates against the population of Chinese origin, from Asian countries.
Fear and anxiety can lead to social stigma towards people of Chinese or Asian origin, and that stigma harms people by creating more fear and hatred towards these people, rather than seeking solutions against the disease that is causing the problem, focus on being the problem.
I have witnessed the construction of physical walls, authoritarian and ideological laws against people fleeing: the sea and European contempt in the Mediterranean, the violence in transit of Central Americans who cross Mexico to try to reach the United States, sub-Saharan deported en masse in Algeria. People often used as a political weapon of authoritarian regimes around the world, of great powers and rich countries.
Racism has long won the culture war on solidarity.
Viruses, so modern and so ancient, penetrate our organisms indiscriminately, regardless of gender, origin or social class. They remind us that we are connected, that selfishness and prejudice are a condemnation, and that solidarity is a necessary antidote.
Epidemics are not just cases of infected and dead, treatments and vaccines: they are communities broken by stigma, collapsed health systems, shortages of food products, medicines and medical implements, and the verification, notification, and general alarm in the case of Covid. -19.
But this health emergency has revealed an even more toxic aspect that manifests itself and spreads with any type of tragedy: racism, the conviction that everything that is not white and western causes the ills of the planet.
In crisis situations, the worst of society comes to light: lack of solidarity, selfishness, immaturity, irrationality. Liquidating an epidemic requires a conscious pact and solidarity worldwide.
I'm here temporarily, but I'm not from here. While higher your frequency, higher will be your conscience.

#Trumpandemic
I think this new word by the Chinese embassor in Paris sums up the process of whatever Trump passed onto his global co-patients, so they display the common symptoms towards non-white people.
