Around 36% of Hey Ai male members are from U.S. (which is a fairly big portion).
There is a clear bias in previous comments about asian male height, where most of them claimed they were 175cm+.
I'm not saying they lied. For example, taller guys can be more willing to reveal their heights than the shorter guys.
It's informative to report some statistics:

Source: www.cdc.gov/nchs/dat...nhsr122-508.pdf

This shows that you can expect that the guy is around 170cm.

People who are taller are also more likely to answer this question in the first place, since they are more comfortable to talk about it.

Btw. I used to think that Americans are much taller than an average height of just 177cm. The average height of males from my province in northern China is 177cm.

never been to north china, but data says thats def bullcrap. Even countries like Australia and US its close to 5'10 or even 5'9. Unless ur talking about certain specific age groups orsomething. I see way more shorter asians like south koreans or "northern chinese" then me and see way more taller blacks and white men. And im 183-184cm

It is pretty hard to find westernized sources about this rather niche topic, this is what I came up with on short notice:

Under the category "stereotypes and differences". This source does not specify age groups.
en.wikipedia.org/wik..._southern_China

The bottom left chart in my attachment shows that Chinese from northern China, especially cities such as 大连市 (just compare the signs), were 177cm at 18 years of age. This study was done 10 years ago, so it can be expected that these people have grown even a bit more over the last 10 years. Even the study from 15 years ago shows similar results, alas at a smaller sample size.

The first source does not specify age, the second source does. However, even if we just take the second source and compare it to danilowisk's statistics, it shows that in the age group of people in the 20s/30s (again, remember that the chinese study was done 10-15 years ago, these people are in the 20s/30s today), people from northern China and the US are of the same height.

Also, I want to say that I dont want this to get into a nasty internet fight. Rather, as a Chinese who grew up overseas, I am genuinely interested about finding things about my place of birth. So if you can provide the data to support your anecdotal personal experiences, I will be genuinely grateful.

I'm not a short guy at 180cm, but all I know is that when I've walked around certain parts of Seoul, I've seen lots of guys around my height, and even some who are obviously taller than me, multiple times a day -- especially when going out to bars/clubs etc.

I also roomed with a guy from North China who was def taller than me -- probably 190cm or so.

Yea, you'll find that the self-selected Asian males who regularly go out to bars/clubs will tend to be much taller than average. This is especially true for Asian men in Asia, since the emphasis on height in Asian society is even higher than western countries when it comes to dating. At 5'11 / 180cm, I'm a bit taller than the average Asian, but in the bars around HK/Taipei, I'll be around the average there.

Height angst. It's all fun and games until someone gets poked in the eye.

I fit in the standard grave depth by idiomatic measurements but the length that concerns me most is that life is too short for this :poop:
