Chevron loophole existed and no one cares about it.

Oliver Stone is one of the greatest directors of all time. he enlisted and fought in the Vietnam War when he was younger, thinking he would not survive it, which is how he wanted it because he was suicidal at the time.

the movie JFK is one of his masterpieces. the editing and musical score are also extraordinary.

this scene from Any Given Sunday shows that he didn't just want to make good films, he wanted them to have meaning (football isn't just a sport, there's a history to it and a respect for all past and present players), hence the stilled shot of the eyes, the lightning, and footage of a past football player.



visual masters, he and his editor. i don't think their film styles can be replicated. same goes for Terrence Malick's films.

* oh the film is also about growing up and acting like a man, respecting elders, etc. (it's R-rated, so don't be surprised by some of the more shocking and vulgar scenes when people aren't acting like mature men. it's in there to show the truth about the world of ego, money, fame, success, etc.)
