I’ll happily return the favor with recommendations from DC! Even if you’re not from one or the other, if you have great places to brag about in your city, lmk. ☺️

I'm originally from SoCal and still fly back every year to visit family and friends.
I recommend the following: Universal Studios, Griffith Park, Santa Monica Pier, Grand Central Market, LACMA, Cali Science Center
Have a good and safe trip!

Like Stringhmm listed, there are a lot of activities depending on your interests. If you're into museums, one of the most famous places is the Los Angeles Museum of Arts (LACMA). It's the place that probably has the most dating profile pictures from, haha. The Griffith Park Observatory is also a beautiful place to learn about space-stuff and to get one of the best views of the city. Definitely do Grand Centra Market for a hip eating experience. I think you'd be better off looking at online guides of 'top places' to visit in Los Angeles and see what might interest you the most.
If you're into films, a fun thing to consider doing is to look up famous "film" locations in Los Angeles (there are a LOT) and take a tour visiting them. 500 Days of Summer was filmed around L.A. and includes a lot of places like the Bradbury Building (also Blade Runner 1982 and a few other films), the hill/park Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zoey Deschanel that looks over the Grand Central Market.
Los Angeles is a very diverse city. As historical and modern as some areas are, there are also very dilapidated areas. Some of it is charming, and other's are ... sad. Drive through Skid Row if you want to be humbled by the ugly side of a "fast moving" city.
If you're not renting a car or driving though, L.A. has a pretty functional transit system that will take you to most parts of Los Angeles. Get familiar with the LA Metro system (they have apps and websites to make the process pretty easy). They also have scooters you can rent around the city that is very convenient for getting from place to place.
Disclaimer though, I haven't been through Los Angeles since the pandemic kicked in last year, so I don't know if there have been any major changes to public services. I'm currently living in a neighboring county, further from the mayhem.
Best wishes with your trip though!

EphemeralTwilight wrote: It takes some special kind of person to wanna travel during deadly global pandemic. Hope u people at least got vaccinated. Im really of the belief that every country needs to implement vaccine passport, either that or just close off the border like Australia and new Zealand so people cant even be tempted to travel.
This isn't a forum thread for pandemic opinions nor is it needed. People have been traveling for a while now, planes full, indoor dining with full capacity, this is nothing new. I'm pretty sure she's 100% vaccinated too. Regardless, states have been reopening and Gov. Newsome declared during his state of the union, “In California, we’re not going to come crawling back. We will roar back,”

She asked about travel opinions in middle of deadly pandemic and I will certainly give it. 3 million dead ppl says hi and no u dont know shes vaccinated, I have covid right now, im coughing my lungs out this is no joke. I thought my young age at 33 was gonna be fine, if i caught it, turns out that aint the case.
She asked for travel ideas and suggestions and as she listed in her first post "LA for recommendations on places to see". You are entitled to your own opinion and I'm also entitled to tell you your opinion on COVID is not needed in this Hey-Ai forum post and this will be the 2nd time being told by a moderator as such.
Also, I know she's fully vaccinated because I helped gave her both shots.
