... the Bavarian Abitur is the only university-entrance diploma that's worth called Abitur!!!!!...

I passed the Abitur(not in bavaria) and I attend university. Does that mean you called all the people who did it without bavarian abitur not worth it? Me included?

I would even go further: Those who don't have the Bavarian Abitur aren't to be considered human!!!!! :pinch:

hm. Whatever.

I've never visited NRW or any educational institution over there, but purely from deduction, I'll explain it to you: The curriculum of NRW's colleges is as crappy as their Abiturs...... in your face!!! :woohoo:

Did I ever say where I went to university?

btw, NRW has at least one Elite-Uni for engineering.

I think this conversation shows the OP exactly what he wanted to know. Additional to that, as you can see, people from different regions feel superior simply because they studied in a different regions. We haven't even started talking about marks lol

Elite-Unis. XD

Actually I don't belive in these regional differences. It's only bavarians who think they are better. As for universities, some have a very good reputation -often for a reason. But I did not study at this Elite-Uni, it was just an example.

About the different school types: I don't think it's the best idea to seperate the children that early. It's always possible to to to the Gymnasium to get the Abitur with the degree from the Realschule, but my friends who did it that way said, it was hard for them, because the requirements were lower there. They used to be good students until they went to the Gymnasium. It's easier to start there in the beginning and then just carry on.

But then again, I don't belive everyone needs to do the Abitur. To get into University -sure. But there are also Fachhochschulen (university/college of applied science) and for certain jobs, that might be even better than a university degree. There are so many ways and different schooling systems to acquire a degree that enables you to visit a Fachhochschule.

What I find really stupid is that nowadays Abitur is necessary even for many apprenticeships.

What's up with your grammar, I thought you had a bavarian Abitur.

Just joking.

Agree. I struggled back in the days with my Realschulabschluss to get a apprenticeship. I made it, but really, Abitur is for many apprenticeships just too much. Work experience, hard working mind and effort is required, good marks won't help

When I came back to look for a job in Germany, I was so annoyed already after a few weeks, because some companies still wanted to see my degree WTF. Work experience was worth a sh**. Thats one of the reason I am back in the UK.

Und thadeutz, some people say it seriously and mean, they do believe they are better lol How shall we know if you are joking or not? You know we don't have any sense of humor ;)
