Dated someone here for over a year as well, saw some of the world together. Good, happy, simpler times now that I think about it. Although differences in long-term life goals, mine's about establishing stability and building upwards, her's was about being free spirited and moving around the EU torpedoed things. Both paths are perfectly viable lifestyles and goals, but it's too difficult to match. We grew from the experience though, so it is still good. Nothing as dramatic as some of the things I read here in this community.

I'm fortunate to live where I am, because it's far easier to meet the women I'm looking for and dating is frequent but you got to keep your eyes open to the qualities you're looking for in a partner and constantly be improving yourself too. I recommend people to go out and actually meet people the old fashion way, it's so much more fun and fruitful. Come here to this community for the shits and giggles, and the occasional wholesome goodness.

I've been messing around on hey ai for quite awhile now and has been unfairly judged on many occasions due to how I express myself... but no matter.

Anyway, I was falling in love with several girls on here already, but had to break things off (on one occassion is cause I don't wanna convert to Islam and don't want her to betray her family nomsayin?), but then one day I ended up just trolling this girl who I thought was abit prude (judging by her photos). Anyway, my opening line was using some Maluma lyrics and asking her Latinas can be trusted? (At the time I was talking to some other girl to the point of thinking about visiting her). But we added each other on whatsapp nomsayin?

Anyway, our conversation on whatsapp is quite lacklustre as I thought she is abit cold and not that hot, for I am one of those guys who is lazy and not keen to chase a girl, unless it's for a conquest or some other ego bullshit nomsayin? Anyway, we actually didn't talk about that much for many months, but just it so happens that after we talked abit more later I realised this girl is actually quite hot and a GOOD GIRL!!!! So I am like, dam son I better not lose this chance! Don't over think it or I won't do nothing and back out of it nomsayin? I am sure some of you know what it's like, after a Chinaman put a baby in you and gets cold feet.... (anyway, I would never do that!!!!)

So I made the executive decision of buying a ticket to visit her in her country nomsayin?

Part 2

After much happiness, tears, hopelessness, and me trying to breakup with her due to my fears and doubts of a uncertain future... We are still together, with plans for her to come back to me early next year. I hope we succeed...

I find the girls on this website very flaky. 2 out of 3.
One was quite clingy and I found that endearing, but the other two were flaky. I met one of the flaky ones in real life. She respected me enough to give me her time while I was there face to face, but once I went home, she reverted back.
I spent a year getting to know Girl 1 and it still failed after we met. The difference was that I remained steadfast while she did not.

Myself, I'm quite sure of what I want, and I'm fairly consistent in that regard.
I usually make up my mind pretty quickly - so if I like a girl from the start, I will always like her.
When I commit to dating, I won't do 180s and forsake my date. I can be counted on to be reliable.
However, I've never been able find the same in the girls I've dated on here. They seemed indecisive, casual with words (indicating they wanted or expressing strong feelings about the relationship and then back-peddling later). Both Girls 1 and 3 were very busy with their study schedules.
But that's not a fair excuse, especially when we consider I was actually quite busy myself. The difference was that I was prepared to make the time. Girl 1 respected me enough to make the time, but then we have to hold her to a higher standard because I travelled a world away to see her. She simply reverted back to not having the time for me after went back home. Girl 2 it failed because she had a compulsive personality and I couldn't deal with it - the breakup was actually somewhat mutual. Girl 3 I fell in love with her immediately because she was so much like myself and because she seemed to really want me, it made me like her all the more, but she suddenly ghosted me after a few weeks, without any explanation just disappeared off the face of the earth. Though I had circumstantial evidence that she was still alive and receiving my messages.

My advice is LDRs can't be half-hearted. Either you really want it and you are willing to turn your world upside-down to be with the person, otherwise it's really just not justified.
And I mean, I understand dating is exploratory, but a non-committal mindset is totally the wrong mindset to bring to Long Distance Relationships. If you're not a very committal kind of person, guys or girls, I would advise against LDRs. LDRs have to be seriously justified as you're travelling across the world, spending thousands of dollars and hours. If you are half-hearted you're going to end up hurting the other person and wasting a lot of their time and money, and yours. There's no half-measures in LDRs. That's just my opinion and going from my experience. I loved the girls I dated and I gave them a fair amount of my time and 100% effort. I wish I could say the same for them.

I saw her on this website since January of this year, I didn't say a word, but I thought she was beautiful. She sent me a friend request accompanied by a message saying "Hi," this summer. We hit it off instantly! She's super funny, have a good sense of humor, sarcastic and a very kind person that loves to have fun and go in adventures. It's like we were lovers in the past and fate brought us together again in the present.
