Distance is definitely a barrier to meeting people here, as the members are so dispersed. I think you'll find that a lot of the success stories started off as LDRs due to that. Thought I'd just add my story...
I dated someone from here and it lasted 6 months and it was the most difficult relationship I'd ever been in. Constant arguments, he came over to mine and put a hole through my door, threatened to post pictures of my 2 year old on pedophile sites. I have certainly learned my lesson. Anyway all stories have a happy part and I met someone in my home town and he has shown me what a caring and loving relationship is. I feel extremely lucky and the best part is my son loves him and the family days out are amazing.
