I probably was listening to metal before you were even born. So yes, I do know that there are many sub-genres in metal. My comment that "Slipknot is not metal" was obviously a comment with tongue in cheek that many old school metal fans like myself often makes with tongue in cheek, when we want to express how we don't recognize and accept bands like Slipknot(and other "nu metal" ) as "metal" band(s) even though they technically are.

so what if you were listening to metal before i was even born? Does that make you some kind of metal "expert"? And i dont think that Slipknot are awaiting neither your approval nor acceptance...Despite a lot of metal singers, Corey can actually sing.Korean_Romeo wrote:

I was actually responding to Doi. I was pointing out that I was listening to metal before he was born and that I don't need someone reminding me that metal have numerous sub-genres(especially when my comment about Slipknot not being metal was half-jokingly made ). Am I a metal "expert"? Not compare to actual "experts," but definitely more so than the generations that came after me. I never made any point about whether Slipknot needs my "approval"(since the statement was made with tongue in cheek). But musical generation of Slipknot was also the generation that ruined American metal scene where U.S. as a country no longer have any international musical credibility that it once enjoyed.

Haha what? So what if Slipknot are in the generation that you claim "it ruined" American metal scene? Does that automatically make them bad? Everything is evolving and so does music. And Nu Metal is doing pretty damn well worldwide.Korean_Romeo wrote:
