I love Star Trek because it's not just "good guy eliminates bad guy", but they have this whole load of philosophical, moral and social issues that they dig into. definately agree with the philosophical thing. i have to admit i was never much into star trek; the star wars appeal was too great for me, plus the movies were awesome (yes even the latest ones ) but theyve been showing deep space nine lately on tv here and im really getting into it. there was an ep recently about the Bajorans education system and how they were against the teaching of evolution theory and all that. also there was that ep about a cardassian p.o.w- the ending was satisfying but pretty sad as well, definitely got me thinking- anyway great stuff! plus i love that dude with the big ears hes so badass one of his quotes from the education episode "love those religious girls.." LOL

the only star trek movie/series i watch was the most recent film, which i enjoyed. i wanna marry zoe saladana. i always wanted to watch one of the television series but dont know where to start? are each of the series related or in chronological order? i really enjoyed battlesar galactica and firefly, and have seen some episodes of stargate and enjoyed them. if i enjoyed those series will i enjoy the star trek series?
