Omg wtf Avril?

The music is mostly composed for Japanese fans, I don't think the song is racist or ignorant or anything. We don't speak for Japanese people, I think it would be fair that the Japanese speak for themselves. So far, I have not seen any Japanese got offended by it. It is mostly the non-Japanese who think that they know how the Japanese feel....

Avril is pretty popular in Japan since ages. Her Japanese fans are more interested in her music than her Western fans are so it doesn't surprise me that she's trying to cater to the Japanese audience to milk her fans over there - she still has bills to pay, ya know.
You should see that from the perspective of a Japanese person, living in Japan. They probably even admire her more for making their pop culture the main theme in her song. Heck them sararimen probably have bloody noses, seeing that pretty white girl being all ka-ka-ka-kawaii.
For them it's some sort of acknowledgement and advertisement for their quirky, unique pop culture. The only people offended here are people that aren't Japanese and don't live in Japan. They have seen worse. Just zap through a Japanese TV in Japan during any time of the day and you'll be exposed to the most colorful and dusturbing shit, ever.

I never liked Avril anyway and that song/video is cringeworthy but it's clever of her to cater to the Japanese audience. They are the ones keeping her struggling 'career' somewhat alive.

Nothing wrong with the video per se. I find Avril more annoying.. She sounds like a 30 year old trapped in a 11 year old's body. Hearing her whine makes me want to get into a cat fight with no-holds-barred bitch slapping. It seems like its mainly people from the west, fanatics of Japanese culture, who think they know too much and find this video racist.
