Am I the only person who thought this movie was a disappointment?

Halfway throughout the movie I honestly almost fell asleep.

Damnit....well...still going to see it tomorrow night

The first part of the movie was so goddamn good. Honestly Brian Cranston for me was worth the ticket to admission alone. But then halfway through they switch the narrative to focus on his uninteresting son who gets the most cliche'd story ever.

Visually when godzilla comes and makes his first appearance, you'll get blown away. But yeah that's about it. The rest of a movie was such a bore fest for me personally. I mean in one scene godzilla and this other monster nicknamed MUTO were about to fight and they cut the scene and continue from a news report POV. Then when they revert it to the actual scene the MUTO is flying away and u basically got to see none of the fight.

They dragged the movie on for so long, especually that part

What else did you expect from the gwai-lo taking an Asian property and making it their own?

Yeah, I agree. The movie was a total disappointment for me.

I watched it in IMAX 3D... and the visual and sound effects made the movie. I think the reason they didn't include too much of the fight was the amount of graphical work that would have required. I stayed through the credit and the amount of people that worked on the graphics was already size of an army. It's a movie in the category of Avatar, where it's more for the experience than the writing.

I can see how it wouldn't have been that great on a normal screen or a TV screen.

It was alright / above average - not as good as the one from the late 90s.
