How would you call this kind of art? Letterart? ("Wordart" is taken already)

You are correct. It’s called word art or text art. Plenty of creative examples of other people’s word/text art on the net if you need some inspiration.

Nah, I do something entirety different.

For example this is word art of an Ice cream

I stand by my statement. I believe the example of the ice cream is called typographic artwork instead of word/text art. But hey, 50% chance I’m wrong. I’m just a guy pretending to be a cat on the internet. A cat that plays the bongo. A bongo cat.

Feel free to post your examples. I'm genuinely curious.

No problem. I think the terms word art and text art are used loosely/interchangeably with both styles but typographic art only applies to that which resembles that of the ice cream.
I made this cat using a typographic art generator. The other is a screenshot of what I found when searching word art.

i call it mr squiggle art. there use to be a show called mr squiggle, where a puppet with a pencil as a nose would draw a picture from random lines as a starting point. i know its not based on words, but the concept is similar.

I love the name 😂. Yeah, but that's not it. I did this, too. Drawing s random image from random scribbles is much easier than drawing a character from its name/word. (And no it's not wordart/textart/letterart, because in the examples I found, it is intended that the letters are still readable while in my drawings the letters blend in with the character. I don't assume I'm the only one who is doing it. There musz be people out there who have done it before and better)

I asked my Google. This is what it said.
Is it art? Yes.
Is it based on word/text? Yes.
In its most simplistic definition it is word/text art.

Alternatively, ChatGPT said the following:
Using artistic vernacular it can be described as 20th century contemporary monochromatic optical overlap effect pictorial representational styled overlayed cartoon doodle word/text art.

Or you created a new form of art.
