Currently reading "The Heart of Everything That Is"by Bob Drury & Tom Clavin.
It's a non-fiction about a Sioux warrior-statesman who was the only American Indian in history to defeat the United States Army in war. So far, it's pretty damn good for a historical non-fiction.

I don't know if it's just me but I prefer having a book in my hand..the smell and feel...there is something amazing about having the ability to hold one in your hand and flipping the pages reading it from front to back. I even read the little fine prints.

That's going to be my next read. Dan Brown books always keep me interested.
I'm currently reading Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan.
It's pretty entertaining, but I am missing a lot of dialect footnotes because I'm using an e-reader. I could probably just adjust the font size to fix this except I'm lazy/don't want to have to squint.

What are you reading right now and what do you think about it?
I was revisiting Handmaid's Tail by Margaret Atwood but decided to return it since my request for MaddAddam was ready for pick-up at my local library. I plan on reading it this weekend. MaddAddam is the "end" of a three-part series (not sure how to phrase it) by Atwood, the first of which was Oryx and Crake, and the second being the Year of the Flood. I loved parts 1 and 2 so much, and I think part 3 (maddaddam) will be just as good if not better.
What are your all time favorite books?
The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger (cuz I can relate to Holden)
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes (cuz I can relate to Charlie)
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe (cuz even though i can't relate to him, Okonkwo is... in 3 words: straight up gangsta')
What books would you recommend for others to read (please answer this because I'm running out of good books to read lol)?
I suggest anything by Margaret Atwood (she's all about "Girl Power", and i luv and respect that; she offers a different vibe, which i find refreshing; atwood's work, in a way, reminds me that life isn't always about a man and his dick)
Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman (one of the most surprisingly entertaining books I've ever read; it kept me glued; highly recommended!!!)
The Footprints of God by Gregg Iles (a thriller/suspense book that made me think an awful lot about the implications behind technology)
My Year of Meats by Ruth Ozeki (a beautifully written book that touches upon various topics/issues including culture and, yes, meat)
I recommend everything under "favorites" as well
Do you prefer fiction or non-fiction?
I prefer fiction. It just makes sense for me, considering I live in la-la land just about everyday. I find myself drawn to books about dystopian/apocalyptic societies but with the off-chance of there being light at the end of the tunnel (i.e. hope). I enjoy books like that not because I'm a bastard with a twisted soul, but rather everytime I read one like it, I notice that two things happen to me: 1) I work at improving myself and my situation, and 2) I appreciate life more.
Do you read anything other than books, like journals, news, blogs, the backs of cereal boxes, whatever…?
Yes I do. Every now and then, I go to msnbc.com to catch up with my world news, as well as sbnation to catch up on my sports. Recently, I've been visiting pbs.org to splurge on Frontline's features. Also, as a kid, I remember reading the back of toiletry items like toothpaste, mouthwash, and pert plus, all while sitting on the toilet and doing the durty; i'm convinced that it's all crap (the stuff i was reading)
i hope this was encouraging.
happy reading, friends

Peter May - 'Runaway' which looks like a thriller/mystery novel. I haven't started reading it yet.
