I don't watch boxing as a casual (ie. it's just because of the big time fighters) but really what makes the 2 fighters elevated is really Mayweather is the type of "role model" who ppl admit to hating but, at the same time, almost adore having those traits; how many guys like being the alpha-male, trash-talking guy in sports for example? He's like the Kanye of boxing.

Pac is the role model that we elevae because he's the guy who we look at his circumstance and admire his achievements. If you want a star wars reference, he's Luke Skywalker but we still think Darth Vader is a better badass.

Then again I still wish this fight was made years ago; anyone who said they were waiting for this fight to be hyped and why it took so long is kind of lying to themselves. Even vegas wasn't as packed for this fight as everyone expected.

No, most people hate that. Notice the booing at end of the fight, and the Twitter vote on who they want to win. Being Kanye of anything isn't a compliment.

There were so many Guillotine holds that I thought I was watching UFC.

Mayweather won clearly. I knew he would win and the fight would suck. Maidana did a much better aganist Floyd than Pacquiao.
