I am Malaysian of Chinese ethnicity. Grandparents migrated from China roughly in 1910s. So when Japanese soldiers came, first thing they do was breaking in chinese neighbourhoods to look for chinese women, bring them away and brutally rape and kill them, many times even those who were only about 10-12 years old were rape. Young and fit chinese men were killed to avoid resistance against Japanese in Malaysia-Singapore region that time.
Things were worse in China, there were documentaries were Japanese soldiers gang rape Chinese women in public and cut off their breast or even took steel bar and slot it into their vaginas. Brutal and inhuman, they also had Chemical test on chinese civilians for chemical weapons research.
To this day the Japanese government did not conduct sufficient sincere apology with regrets, the Japanese soldiers were worshipped by their poiticians in the Yasukuni shrine. And Japanese people did not have full education on this topic.
My opinion is simple, we do not say the Atomic Bomb on Japanese is a right thing to do, but before you go into talking about that, make damn sure u r sincerely sorry to the damage u have cost to the victim countries, and make full acknowledgement that it was u the Japanese who had started the war. I think that should be the reasoning.

But I think this thread got derailed in some serious manner.
A lot of people have suffered in cruel ways during WWII (and people still suffer from wars on the daily, let's not let us forget); atrocities that are beyond our imagination or even too inconceivable for us to grasp while we're peacefully sitting behind our screens with a coffee or a lunch.
Picture this: So many hundreds of thousands of stories and fates untold; so much harm had been done to the innocent; so many human beings had suffered in ways that the only description - and that would probably not even come close to it - would be "Hell" and it still wouldn't suffice to depict what happened back then to each and everyone of them.
None of us was there, none of us will ever know.
All we have, all that we could ever grasp are the words of the people we still have or had have in our lives.
And what we make of it.
My point is, that sharing these stories - with whatever opinion or background - is fine. As long as people don't point the finger at others and say "You did this." "You started this." "Your ancestors killed mine."
I think if any of us could, we would make it undone.
Because what's the point? What's the point in war? What's the point in killing?
There is not one reasonable point.
Even let it be money or power or the desire to kill and see the lights go out in people's eyes.
It is a despicable, morbid, unforgivable, disgusting, horrible thing to do and it's justified with only one thing: Exactly, nothing.
Unfortunately, there will be racism until the end of time. (Even though I hope I'm wrong.)
And most of it comes from narrow-mindedness, the lack of education and sadly, history, too.
I'm actually ashamed of being a part of this world where nationalism is stronger than empathy.
It makes me sick.
I am also a bit staggered what kind of reactions this video has caused. Foremost, so much hate.
It's such a sensitive topic, it should be handled with care.
Mankind is the worst animal.
And because of that, I wish people could work together for a better tomorrow and let the past be the past that has only one purpose: To be a gentle reminder for something that should never be in need of repetition.
The thing that bugs me; no, it actually makes me really angry, is accusation and pointing fingers.
So much, that this is my first post with proper grammar and spelling in Hey-Ai history. Lol
Peace out, kents.
mornings are for coffee and contemplation.

I would put it this way, it somehow feels like its starting a topic about how Hitler is a dog lover, non-alcoholic drinker, highly ambitious, healthy-diet, discipline man, kind man to people around him. While we are here to provide more informations so people get a bigger picture. As simple as that.

I think time will outlive humanity. On that note, I'm in tears. I'm witnessing another rare moment in time of a troll-free San post.

But the problem is we cannot fully separate those incidents as they were a series of connective event in this strand of history , that is, highly sensitive. And the commentors here who have somehow derail the topic, including me, are here giving more informations to let people have a more balanced view and opinion while watching this video.

i completely understand where youre coming from. and why.

and its okay if people dont forget - forgetting history would always be the worst crime against humanity.
but its as important to learn how to forgive (which would be easier for us than for older people, but sometimes its even the other way around).
and im not(!) saying the japanese arent at fault. the japanese rulers at that time are def to blame.
im just saying for us, as a generation, its so important to make a difference.
and what do you mean hitler was not just a kind dog lover?
LOL JK

Difference between Nazi Germany and Japan:
Hitler was still portrayed as popular man/Japanese emperor is a god
Most of the atrocities committed by the Germany army were carried out by the SS/Most of the atrocities committed by the Japanese army are by regular troops, who were trained and and instructed to do so
Many of Germany's army leaders were trying to overthrow Hitler, but was stopped by British intervention cause they wanted Hitler to take care of the Soviet Union/The Japanese as a country, including women and children was totally supportive of the emperor, ready to fight to the bitter end, hence the Atomic bob solution
What do you really know about Japanese culture
Japanese culture 100% came from Chinese culture. The blind loyality portrayed by Japan during those days was a VERY TWISTED version of Confucian values about respecting authority and supporting your country. Which the original benefit of these ideals were a culture gift from the Chinese to Japan
Japanese TWISTED Zen meditation to make their officers into emotionaless killing machines. Which is an abuse of the gift of Buddhism passed from China to Japan.
The Japanese government completely turned their back on Chinese culture in order to follow European imperialism. It makes me wonder why you white girls are so blindly defending Japan considering some of you like Asian guys for their culture? Yet you defend on a country that has turned their back on their culture? Not to mention I presume most of you do not support America's actions around the world, yet you defend Japan?
Japanese agents has done extensive research on China prior to the invasion by praying on the Chinese virtue of welcoming foreign guests. Chinese people are very trusting of outsiders who shows interest in our culture.
Japanese kill their own wife and children when defeat is coming near, this is worse than being killed by atomic bomb. Even many animals do not kill their young.
This is the Most Important thing
Japan does not recognize it's horrific actions during WW2, with the help of the American propaganda machine. Their text books do not mention what they did and they use exactly the same reasoning on this thread about "forgive and forget" . That is not okay, because if people do not know what their last generation did, then they will think they are the victims so will surely be gullible to repeat the same action they've done before.
You have to seriously think about your own state of mind on why you would defend Japan on these actions? Do you defend Nazi Germany's actions?
Also, for those of you who are nervous about bringing up grievances about the Japanese devils on a WFAM forum you should think about why you are so nervous to voice the truth when you are suppose to be living in a democracy?
