I think that people who bully others whether online or in person are trolls who think it's best to put people down. They are miserable themselves and need help. Misery does love company. I tend to ignore the trolls.

i view it as displacement of anger due to their own crappy life circumstances.

....are non other than just a bunch of cowards who dont have the guts to say their opinion in the face of somebody. in todays world of social media its easy to bully somebody if youre hide yourself behind a computer. you have the time to choose your words wisely to hurt somebody.

It's insecurity or jealousy.

Ah, trolls. Typically people with too much free time and no life.
According to some study I saw some time ago, they're typically sociopaths. Not sure how accurate the statement is, but it seems legit seeing as they thrive off of making others miserable.

Most trolls/sociopaths (I think they are closely related) I come across over the internet doesn't really bring anything new to any discussion but to just point out his/her/it/their opinion about a matter/subject/topic. Beware of reading youtube comments as it's filled with them :/

Exactly why I no longer comment on Youtube videos at all haha. They're probably the worst, well, right below about 95% of tumblr.

I was going to mention Tumblr, too, but I think Youtube justifies it quite well without any other examples. There were so many times when I typed something to say on youtube, but deleted it and closed the tab only because I know that the other person would just "troll". Ugghhh. Especially after reading the comments from other people trying to defend the video, etc. The internet is a wonderful and mysterious place.
