Bedřich Smetana : yet another genius-gone-deaf-and-mad type of composer. This is one of his most famous pieces, Vltava

The Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 (also known as "the Choral").

It just gives me hope whenever I need one!

The most outstanding pieces were written almost exclusively from the late baroque to early romantic period. I also prefer compositions with a fairly quick tempo and I strongly appreciate the counterpoint techniques employed by composers of the aforementioned era.

It's hard to pick just one composition out of such a huge repertoire, but if I had to choose a single piece of music that encapsulates the best aspects of classical music, it has to be the 18th prelude to J.S. Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier (BWV 887).

Several months ago, I stumbled upon a near perfect rendition of BWV 887 by Sviatoslav Richter , but it seems this recording has been taken off YouTube due to copyright restrictions. The version I'm linking to is not perfect, but comes quite close to perfection.

Fast, polyphonic, and free of nonsense - that is how music (and science) should be.

I like Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and many more. But my favorite classical composition would be Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". I used to study while listening to it lol

Need help from German native speakers, please.
Sorry, I'm NOT fluent in German...
The video below shows French Soprano Colorature Natalie Dessay in W.A. Mozart 's The Magic Flute.
& I wanted to have your opinion on her spoken dialogues in German. She sounds quite fluent, doesn't she ?

(singing starts at 1'54 min.)
