how to make IT not scary

i was listening to an interview of a stalker who said he killed his wife who tried to divorce him. he said he did it because it meant some other man could never have her, and by killing her, she would always be his. wow, ok. i already knew that's how they think, but it still surprises me. how can she be his if she's dead? i mean, yes he's thinking about ownership and control and everything but how nuts.
