Literally saw the reboot of Childs Play today , really gory , butttt surprisingly had its dark humor still intact at times.

Child's play. Another remake just for the sake of doing it....

The last film I watched in the cinema was Aquaman.

As expected, I loved Jason Momoa's barbarian-esque take on Arthur Curry, as well as the self-aware humor that he carried over from Justice League. I wasn't sold on Amber Heard as Mera at first (especially the comic-accurate bright red hair), but I have to admit that she grew on me once she and Arthur spent some time on dry land - the flower eating scene was adorable.

The supporting cast was great, too - I particularly liked Temura Morrison's "aw shucks" gentle, humble lighthouse keeper, a great complement to Nicole Kidman's regal Queen Atlanna. Willem Dafoe works surprisingly well as the heroic servile snarker Vizier Nuidis Vulko (considering that I've mainly known him from villainous or morally-ambiguous roles), as does Patrick Wilson's Orm Marius.

Plotwise, the film struck the perfect balance of action, humor and drama, with the introspective scenes coming off much more naturally than expected for a superhero film.

The movie definitely has me far more excited about a possible DC Cinematic Universe, compared to my initial reactions from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
