Has anyone watched this? I just saw it last night and have mixed opinions on it. On the one hand I love stuff about classism, tribalism, chaos. On the other hand I feel like this movie just kinda drags, doesn't explain the situation very well.

Anyways it's a beautiful looking film with a great cast. Tom Hiddleston and Luke Evans were the two standouts. The brutalist apartment complex with the 70s retro/future backdrop was really cool. Very stylistic film but I still can't tell if I liked it or not just due to the whole thing getting stuck and dragging with the shocking scenes without going anywhere or escalating much.

I had no place to put my thoughts down so I guess I wrote some of them here.

kind of over rated a tad, but amazing filmmaking all the same. still, you can see where they cut the transitions for this supposedly "1 take" film...

Just watched this. It's cute. I wouldn't consider this Best Picture worthy though. I wasn't sold on their friendship only after a few montages of them laughing in the car together. They had a few short conversations and one kind of revealing argument in the rain which I suppose is when their understanding of each other reached its peak. All in all it's a movie that fills in the familiar beats of a feel good story. Nothing terrible really happens and everyone's happy in the end at the resolution. Not sure why it won best picture other than maybe it's a bit of an Oscar bait. Racism bad.

Hi I'm back again with my boring movie opinions! So I was curious about this movie after having seen The Room years ago. I finally got to watch it last night and eh. It's an alright film but I wouldn't recommend it if you have no idea about The Room. The only real funny parts to me were when they referenced the original film. It certainly shines a bit of intrigue on the whole situation like where Tommy Wiseau even came from and how he amassed all his money. People are really into James Franco's performance here. I'm not sure how I feel about it. He's acting badly on purpose. Is that good acting? Tommy Wiseau is such a character I think it's easy to imitate him. Don't enunciate, act like a bit of an idiot, don't use eye contact, always have a dead facial expression and now you're Tommy. Dave Franco played Greg Sestero, Tommy's costar and friend throughout all this. I don't think he takes on a Greg persona. He definitely still feels like Dave Franco except maybe a little more naive and hyped for ACTING! To my knowledge Greg wasn't necessarily like that but it's an interesting take I guess.

Rating: 2.5/5
intrigued me with the story but none of the characters. There's a conflict between the two towards the end that gets brushed under the table without strong reason or resolution to it.
