FallenAngel wrote: For me it has to be Grinderman. Nick Cave has been one of those singers I was kinda brought up with. Last year I saw he was touring with his band Grinderman. I convinced a friend to come with me, and we went. We got to the front row, and when he came on it was just incredible. Even my friend who isn't really a fan loved it. It was an amazing night, made even better by the fact he looked at me haha. If he ever tours again (which I hope he does) I will definitely be there!
awesome. i have yet to see nick cave or grinderman. i've been into cave for a while now. i can imagine grinderman giving a great performance. seen them on tv and the energy is definitely there.

Although seeing Miyavi was excellent this year, it was AWFUL in 2009. I don't know when you say him. The fans are terrible, on the whole. nearly passed out after fifteen minutes. The performance was mediocre and very self-indulgient - and not in a good way.
This year, however, was incredible for me. The stripped-down show of just him and a drummer was much better than having a whole backing band. The communication between him and the audience was alot better too. I can't say much about the drowd because I was on the front barrier (I bought a VIP ticket so I got early entry).

Yeah. That is the biggest problem with going to see Japanese artists. Almost everyone's in neon and showing out redundant Japanese phrases...In the queue to see Gackt earlier this year, I was with with three others and we felt very out of place.
I don't want this to offend anyone! I just don't fit the typical J-rock fan stereotype XD.
