Yeah. That is the biggest problem with going to see Japanese artists. Almost everyone's in neon and showing out redundant Japanese phrases...In the queue to see Gackt earlier this year, I was with with three others and we felt very out of place.

I don't want this to offend anyone! I just don't fit the typical J-rock fan stereotype XD.

haha exactly, im sorry for not wanting to dye my hair light green and wear a fluffy skirt with hello kitty all over it...

What's wrong with being a fan and supporting your favorite group? isn't that what makes going to concerts fun? They're just supporting their favorite bands that happened to be quite talented.

Nothing wrong with being a fan and supporting. I like deadmau5 does that mean that i have to wear a huge mouse head everytime i see one of his concerts just to be able to fit in? no.

Nothing's wrong with it! I am a massive Miyavi fan, for example. His musical style and charisma are sky high. But at the same time, if he was to release a song/album I didn't like, I would openly say it instead of getting defencive (I used to this about some bands when I was younger). And I just don't happen to wear clothes that are heavily influenced by Japanese fashion. I moved on from my lolita phase a few years ago, but I can still appreciate some of it through artistic eyes.

Jrock fans don't have to dress up for it. They do out of choice. If someone wants to dress up as Deadmau5 or have logos/patches of him..they can right? Not like there's a dress code. It's out of choice. I don't remember reading what kind of attire I needed in order to buy a ticket or enter a venue. So stop complaining about others just cuz you don't like it.

I know, but the point is that they didnt think that I should have been there just because I dont find it even slightly tempting to dress up as a j-rock dude/dudette. thats what bothers me, comprendo?
