To me personal style is not about showing off how much you've spent on designer shoes, shorts, skirts, etc. It's about yourself and "fashion week" not telling you what to wear.

It's kind of sad seeing women buy so little for so much just to impress.

Same reason some people spend hundreds of dollars on iPhones/smartphones/laptops etc, games/consoles, or cars and stuff. Everyone has something they are passionate about, nothing wrong spending your money on something you love

I totally agree with you, I think sometimes passion can be borderline obsession. But if it's their own hard earned money they're spending, and they have the means to do so, then power to 'em! ^^

Also I was raised in a different way than some people were and even when I was a kid I wore brands because it was always in my family and I am just used to it.

Of course I wouldnt spent so much money on plain black dress that I can sew myself just because it is YSL. Each to it's own. Who can afford it don't judge them if you can't or if you didn't experience that kind of lifestyle.

Maybe not when it borders upon a collection of mink jackets and scarves or building that $1 billion dollar 14-storey personal apartment when the slums are less than a few kilometers away in a country ridden with poverty..

Otherwise, yup, it's good to feel good wearing something that'll promote ocular focus and neck extensions, but hopefully no run-overs.
