If we are talking about girls who choose to alter their natural skin colour by constantly using sunbeds, spray tan etc... then I prefer women who don't.

A natural tan that appears from actually being in the sun, that's nice. Freckles are nice.
Looking like you've been painted an unnatural shade of orange... not nice.

Duckface seems obligatory if you are a fake tan junkie.

Both? Doesn't matter, really.

Off topic: I'd prefer black and white pictures tho.

In the West, if you are pale it's seen as unhealthy. As if you don't get enough vitamin D or you're a vampire or something (lol). People use products to get that "nice healthy glow." Skin tanning products sell more than skin whitening products. In fact, I don't think I've found whitening product in US stores. Though we also see too much sun as a sign that you tan and are not worried about the possibility of skin cancer.

But in the East, the paler the skin the better.

A historical artifact. The west pre-Industrial Revolution valued light and plump women, because that signified they had the wealth and status to lounge around the house all day and not work in the fields.

Post-IR, aesthetics changed to tanned and thin women, because they had time to play by the beach all day instead of working inside in a factory.

The East is interesting because their preference for light skin is due to their love/obsession of being white.

Well yes, over here I haven't seen any whitening cream in any shop in my entire life. In Thailand I didn't see anything else  Was a bit confusing.
Anyway, there's not a lot to do about it, when I'd be outside the whole summer I just tan automatically, easily, and I really don't mind, it just disappears anyway

This.

Also everyone wants what they cant have. Honestly here in America, the last 10 years or so Ive come to find a change in culture and perspective... especially after Obama became president... Its just not cool to be white anymore, probably cause you arent unique at all as an American white person.
