It was thirty minutes before the end of the shift and we get a ambulance call for a Code 3 (code 3 is sever and means ambulance use lights and sirens to rush) Stroke of a 83 year old male. So he gets here and we rush him to CT scan and I hold his hand the whole time while he is on the gurney. Doctors do a nuero stroke exam. He gradually get's better. The old man's wife was outside the whole time unknown to the husband. She was 81. When we bring him back to the room he starts crying immediately when he greets his wife and son, who have now entered the room. The nurse and I immediately thought something was wrong he said "i am just happy my family is here", it was actually cries of joy. I didn't realize how scared and alone he was. Before I left he told me how much it meant to him that I held his hand because he thought no one was there for him. He took my hand and said I was going to be a great doctor one day. I thanked him and found out that he was actually a doctor too (oncologist/hematologist).
Wow! As a someone who was helped by several nurses and doctors for a month in Intensive Care Unit seven years ago, and have personally seen dedicate works that nurses and doctors go through to help their patients when they needed the most, I will gladly say that you are doing very important, helpful and inspiring jobs. Thank you very much.
Thanks so much Korean, really appreciate it!

I felt everything in him then, in that one moment. I felt his chocking fear of his intense feelings for me, and his desire for me, warring inside of him. “HaNa, please”, he whispered very softly. The roaring sound in my ears had drowned out his voice, but, oh, my soul heard it. He said my name with so much love in his voice it broke my heart all over again. But, yet, responding to his warmth, my soul peeked out from its safe confinement, dipping a toe out, to test the waters. It told me, with a tight squeeze to my broken heart, that I need my golden man, my golden sun, my lover. Suddenly, I felt an immense flow of intense courage. So with a deep shaky breath, and with as much love in my voice as was in his, I whispered “Oppa”, as I lifted my head, with blurry vision, and looked into the face of my everything, my world. ~~~written by ITGamerGirl aka HaNa aka Hannah.
