Great quote Korean, here is another one from Kant

He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals. - Immanuel Kant

THanks for the great quotes so far. I don't know why but Kurts one of my favorite writers of all time. Here is a quote from one of my fav books

“Americans... are forever searching for love in forms it never takes, in places it can never be. It must have something to do with the vanished frontier.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, Cat's Cradle

"And if we do act, however small way, we don't have to wait for some grand utopian future. Future is infinite succession of presents. And to live now as human being should live in defiance to all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory."

Howard Zinn

“Wenn wir einen Menschen hassen, so hassen wir in seinem Bild etwas, was in uns selber sitzt. Was nicht in uns selber ist, das regt uns nicht auf.".

"Your question is: why am I so interested in politics? But if I were to answer you very simply, I would say this: why shouldn’t I be interested? That is to say, what blindness, what deafness, what density of ideology would have to weigh me down to prevent me from being interested in what is probably the most crucial subject to our existence, that is to say the society in which we live, the economic relations in which it functions, and the system of power which defines the regular forms and the regular permissions and prohibitions of our conduct. The essence of our life consists after all, of the political functioning of the society in which we find ourselves.

So I can’t answer the question of why should I be interested; I could only answer it by asking why shouldn’t I be interested? Not to be interested in politics, that's what constitutes a problem. You should ask someone who is not interested in politics; 'Why, damn it, are you not interested?'”

Michel Foucault

Great quotes guys! Really love them.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. - Martin Luther King Jr.

I really like this quote because of what it has meant for me in my life. I also feel that this quote is applicable to relationships as well. A true judge of friends/family/lovers is really when shit is not going right, will they stay or leave? When you are sick at the hospital, who is really the one sitting all night, and checking on your? people maybe there when times are good, but true character is rooted in inconvenience.

"'Is it true God is present everywhere?' a girl asked her mother; 'I think that's indescent' -- a hint for philosophers! One should have more respect for bashfulness with which nature has hidden behind riddles and iridescent uncertainties. Perhaps truth is a woman who has reasons for not letting us see her reasons? Perhaps her name is -- to speak Greek -- Baubo?"

Friedrich Nietzsche, Nietzsche Contra Wagner
